I have been on the fence about renewing my ticket plan, and it really doesn’t have anything to do with who will be starting on Opening Day 2010. The first time I bought tickets in bulk and in advance was in 2006, and I bought the “86 Pack, in honor of the 20th Anniversary of the 1986 Mets, and it was fun, and all the promos dealt with the theme. I liked that, and I liked that it was a pack with six games, and it included the always enjoyable interleague play with our crosstown rivals, the New York Yankees. Here’s the link to the press release for those interested:
The following year I bought the Jose-Jose-Jose pack, with seven games, all on Friday nights. In 2008, things changed, no more fun themed packs for me to choose from, so I got a plan and made sure I had the option to get tickets at the new Citi Field. And, I did.. and now I’m not sure I want them back. I hate my seats that I had to beg to change. My original seats were in the LF Promenade Reserved, I couldn’t see the warning track, the homerun apple or the out of town scoreboard. I switched my tickets to RF Promenade Reserved, and now I can’t see anything that happens in Right Field, and the seats on in row 13, that’s a pretty steep climb. I’m just not pleased. Plus, add to the mix, that my sister is having a baby in January, I don’t see how she’ll be able to go to 15 games with a newborn.
I have until December 18th to decide, the Mets could make it an easier decision if they gave me my six game ticket pack back… pretty please. 😉
